SISI (Short Increment Sensitivity Index)
The SISI test is used to assess your ability to detect very small changes in sound intensity. It is particularly helpful in identifying cochlear (inner ear) disorders. During the test, small increments in sound are presented, and the patient indicates when they detect these changes.
This test is useful in differentiating between types of hearing loss and provides deeper insight into inner ear function. It is a specialized diagnostic tool often used alongside other audiological tests. The results help audiologists in making accurate diagnoses and planning appropriate treatment strategies. SISI plays an important role in advanced hearing evaluations.
